Gerhard L. Weinberg is the author of several books, including the magisterial
A World at Arms, which has been described as" a Gibraltar amid the military literature of World War II." He serves as the William Rand Kenan, Jr. Professor Emeritus of History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Founder's Award Recipient
Since it was founded in 1879, the
Union League Club of Chicago has been a vigorous advocate on behalf of the men and women of the nation's military. With a motto of "commitment to country and community, the Club has also been a long-standing supporter and partner of the Pritzker Military Library.
Master of Ceremonies
Col. Jack Jacobs, USA (Ret.) received the Medal of Honor for his heroic service in Vietnam. Over a military career of more than twenty years, Jacobs also earned three Bronze Stars and two Silver Stars. Today, he is an analyst for NBC/MSNBC News.
